They will also be able to advise you on the best routes and distances in order to allow you the best use of your car whilst seeing the splendours of the island which await.

Here are a few tips before you set out:
- All drivers must be over 21 years of age.
- Always have your driving license and car hire agreement with you. It is compulsory to wear seat belts in Greece.
- Please be aware that some petrol stations are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
- Plan your journey in time rather than in kilometers as your journey time may be longer than calculated.
- Drive slowly, and in Greece expect to find an abundance of potholes. Take extra care when driving through small villages, as there can be many hazards. Road sense in drivers and pedestrians can be lacking and goats, sheep and donkeys have the right of way! Always take a map with you.
- As in the UK, there are laws forbidding drink driving.
