There is a great variety of tempting Sreek specialities to try. Whilst many dishes are fairly oily, you will also have the choice of delicious grilled meats or fish, as well as colourful salads, fresh fruit.

Eating out is comparatively inexpensive, although prices can vary from place to place. You will find the locals and holidaymakers tend to eat out a lot.

Tavernas and restaurants get crowded pretty quickly and waiters don't always notice who's been waiting the longest! Just sit back, take it easy, enjoy the atmosphere, and sample the local wines whilst waiting for your culinary delights.

You may also find that when the food arrives at your table, it may not be piping hot, as we are used to back home. The reason is simply that the Greeks like it that way. However we must add that the service is improving all the time.
