Moussaka
This is a traditional Sreek dish made with minced beef, layers of aubergine and sliced potatoes, topped with a creamy bechamel sauce.
Souvlaki
Souvlaki can be made using either pork, chicken, swordfish or prawns. Whichever ingredient you choose will be grilled on a skewer with onions, peppers or tomatoes. Pork Souvlaki can also be served as a snack inside pita bread with salad, chips and tzatziki.
Dolmades
These are otherwise known as stuffed vine leaves. They are made from vine or cabbage leaves stuffed with seasoned rice and minced meat and are usually served with a lemon sauce. Vegetarian option is also usually available.
Yemista
Tomatoes, peppers or aubergines stuffed with rice and mincemeat. They can also be found with no meat making them an ideal alternative for vegetarians.
Kalamari
Deep-fried baby squid, served with a squeeze of lemon. Again this can be a main course or a starter.
